Oct. 2, 2018 -- Wichita State University has been awarded $813,000 to boost enrollment and retention of students under-represented in science, technology, engineering and math. The funds are part of a larger $3 million, five-year National Science Foundation grant awarded to Kansas State University, which is sharing grant funds with a statewide coalition of universities and community colleges.

Sept. 27, 2018 - Zane Storlie, a junior majoring in computer science at Wichita State, has received a $10,000 a year scholarship from High Touch, a Wichita technology company. The scholarship is renewable and honors the memory of Pat Riddle, a WSU alumna and former High Touch employee.

Sept. 27, 2018 -- After months of anticipation, Fuzzy's Taco Shop confirmed plans to open a restaurant in Braeburn Square, the new retail complex at Wichita State University. Next summer Fuzzy's will join Starbucks and the Shocker Store in the development near 21st and Oliver.

Sept. 20, 2018 -- WSU graduate Julius Thomas III is touring cross country with the Broadway hit show “Hamilton: The Musical.”

Aug. 2, 2018 -- Ideas turn into reality at GoCreate, Wichita State's makerspace, which in its first year already has helped 180 members bring their creativity to life.

Aug. 3, 2018 -- As GoCreate marks its second year, access to tools, technology and advice is critical to entrepreneurs and other creators.

Dorothy and Bill Cohen have pledged a gift of $2.5 million to the Honors College at Wichita State University, just three years after they gave $5 million to help the College deliver a rigorous educational experience for highly ambitious students.

July 19, 2018 -- It's the start of a new tradition: Starting this fall, Wichita State will have a marching band. The new band will include brass, saxophone and a drum line.

June 29, 2018 -- A group of six Master of Innovation Design students at Wichita State University participated in and won a national innovation challenge issued by Johnson & Johnson Innovation Co.

July, 2017- Billy Martin, director and research scientist at the NIAR Environmental Test Lab, has invented a prototype that protects wind turbines from multiple lightning strikes.

July 6, 2017--Jazmin Dennis, a junior secondary education English major at Wichita State University, was awarded the J. Martyn Walsh English Education Scholarship.
